A Summer of Connection, Creativity & Community |
Summer at Family Centre has been full of opportunities to learn, connect, lead and give back. From creative therapeutic activities and youth-led community projects, to mental health advocacy, team connection, and Cup Match Tag Day, our work reflects the relationships that help children, teens and families feel supported and empowered.

| Back-to-School Workshop August 20, 2026 | 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM
For students transitioning from middle school to high school, this interactive workshop will build confidence and practical skills for the move to high school. Topics include healthy peer relationships, communication with parents, managing academic stress, coping skills, independence and resilience. Lunch and snacks are provided. Donations are appreciated but not required.

| Empower Yourself Zone Summer Programme August 24 – September 4, 2026 | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Back by popular demand! This therapeutic summer programme gives children ages 10–12 a safe and supportive space to express themselves, connect and have fun through art, music, dance, theatre, cooking, outdoor activities and community outreach. Friday lunch is included. Donations are appreciated but not required.

Our Girl Code intensive therapeutic group participants welcomed therapy dogs from CommunityK9 for an activity exploring body language and how recognising non-verbal cues can help us better understand and communicate with others. Thank you to CommunityK9 for this engaging learning experience! |
Cup Match Tag Day: Thank You, Bermuda! |
Rain did not stop our incredible Cup Match Tag Day volunteers! Thank you to the 136 volunteers who supported Tag Day across 16 locations to help raise vital funds for Family Centre’s services and programmes. We are also deeply grateful to Clarien Bank for 25 years of Tag Day sponsorship.
Special thanks to Shae and Ean Welch of Metal & String, Family Centre Tag Day volunteers who went the extra mile by collecting donations from their vendor table at Cup Match and helping keep the fundraising momentum going. |

Youth Leadership in Action |
This International Youth Day, we celebrated our YLA Foundations youth, who spent the summer turning their ideas into action through three community impact projects. We are proud of their creativity, confidence and commitment to positive change in Bermuda.

Big thanks to Jackson Taylor for donating rugby cleats and equipment to Family Centre’s Beyond Rugby Bermuda programme! Jackson organised an equipment drive at his school, helping young people in Bermuda access sport. Thank you Jackson for paying it forward and helping the next generation get on the field! |

Congratulations to Hannah Collins de la Cruz, Fund Development Specialist and Digital Media Manager, our Q2 Staff of the Quarter! Hannah was recognised by colleagues for her kindness, enthusiasm for Family Centre’s mission, willingness to help across the organisation and creative problem-solving when challenges arise.

Game On: Family Centre Staff Fun Day
|
Things got a little competitive at our Family Centre Staff Fun Day! From lemon-and-spoon, sack races, and three-legged races to musical chairs and a herculean tug ’o’ war, our team enjoyed an afternoon of classic sports-day games, friendly competition and plenty of laughs.
Special thank you to Jazzy Treats for donating delicious snowballs, sherbet shakes and popcorn to keep our staff refreshed during the games! |
