Family Centre proudly celebrates 35 years of strengthening children, teens, and families across Bermuda. We have grown from a small tutoring programme into an internationally accredited human services organization that provides counselling, outreach, and advocacy at no cost to families.
Our impact has reached thousands of children and families in Bermuda through our Beyond Rugby Bermuda, Beyond Yoga Bermuda, Youth Leadership Academy, and our expanded therapeutic spaces at Sunshine League House.

Enjoy a fun morning of golf in support of children, teens, and families in Bermuda. What’s Happening at Family Centre |
Celebrating 35 Years of Impact at our Open House
Family Centre kicked off its 35th Anniversary year with a special Open House on May 15th at Sunshine League House. The Community was invited to explore our therapeutic spaces and learn more about our journey from a tutoring service to a fully accredited mental health organisation serving thousands of children and families across Bermuda. The event honoured our founder, the late Martha Dismont, MBE, and her legacy of removing barriers to receiving care, and a commitment to providing high-quality, therapeutic services for children, teens, and their families. We were pleased to welcome Governor Andrew Murdoch, Minister Tinee Furbert, Minister Alexa Lightbourne, and U.S. Consul General Antoinette Hurtado among other guests, donors, partners and members of the community. Special thanks to the generosity of The Waterfront Group - Miles Market and Jazzy Treats, whose donation of food and treats made the day even more of a celebration.

“Girl Code” is a fun and empowering week-long group for girls ages 14-16, offering a safe space to explore critical topics such as self-esteem, mental health, and relationships. The group is facilitated by clinically trained staff who provide therapeutic support, with sessions focusing on emotional regulation, self- expression, problem-solving strategies, and healthy coping skills. Discussions will be brought to life through creative arts, group activities, and fun, engaging experiences. Register now! Limited spaces are available. | Back-to-School Essentials is a Social Skills Group designed for students ages 4-7, entering P1-P3. Help your child get socially and emotionally prepared for the upcoming school year! Through the Zones of Regulation curriculum, we will focus on: -
Identifying emotions
- Recognizing how emotions feel in the body and noticing signs
- Learning positive coping strategies to manage difficult emotions before they lead to challenging behaviour

| Advocacy Initiatives: Anti-Stigma Mental Health Campaign Collaborations Family Centre is committed to ensuring children and families can access therapeutic care without the barrier of stigma. We are proud of our continued efforts to destigmatize mental health and seeking help in our community. We continue to be in collaborative spaces with government, human services agencies and partnerships to further this critical goal. We participated in four advocacy events as part of Mental Health Anti-Stigma Month in May. |
