Thank You for Making a Difference!
Threads of Gratitude:
Celebrating Hope, Resilience, and Your Impact at Family Centre
A Christmas Message of Hope from our Executive Director
Dear Friends of Family Centre,
The holiday season is upon us, a time when many people pause to look back on the past year, share time with family and friends, and look ahead to the possibilities of a new year.
Families often want peace, wellness, and health for their loved ones. We all want an opportunity to prosper and thrive, and to live in a strengthened and safe community that we can call ‘home.’ This helps to provide hope that there is always a new day with new opportunities for healing and change to occur.
At Family Centre, we see hope in the eyes of the children, teens, and families we work with throughout our Counselling Services, Youth Leadership Academy, Beyond Rugby programmes, and Beyond Yoga programme. There is hope for positive change and that the future can be brighter.
We feel hope by the partnerships we have with other organizations and individuals wanting to make a tangible difference in the lives of others. We also feel tremendous hope by the generosity of our donors who invest in Family Centre’s continuum of care. We could not do what we do without our partners and donors!
Thank you to our clients who trust us to deliver on our mission to facilitate healing, hope, and connection to strengthen families and create a healthier Bermuda for our children. Thank you to our staff, interns, coaches, volunteers, and Board members who make the magic happen at Family Centre. They ensure that our programmes, services, initiatives, and events are delivered with Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Empowerment. These are Family Centre’s core values (I-CARE), which we are proud to uphold.
As we reflect on our blessings this holiday season, I encourage everyone to take a moment to celebrate the ways you have contributed to your own wellbeing, resilience, your family, and our Bermuda community over the past year.
May your holiday season be joyful, hopeful, and the new year be a prosperous one.

Founders' Legacy: Continuing Martha Dismont's Vision Through Your Support
On November 22, 2023, Family Centre celebrated its first annual Founder’s Day with a dedication ceremony at Family Centre’s Sunshine League House location, marking the birthday of the organization’s visionary founder, the late Martha Dismont, and her legacy of service.
Founder's Day brought together Family Centre staff, board members and the family of Mrs Dismont, including her daughter, Aruna Dismont; sisters-in-law Michelle Dismont-Frazzoni, Sonia Burgess and Kari White; and brother-in-law Elis Frazzoni.
Martha's story serves as a reminder that the threads of gratitude are not just a fleeting sentiment but a continuous commitment to making a lasting impact in the lives of the families we serve.
Your support helps us to continue the work Martha Dismont started.

Building Resilience – Being the Change We Want to See
In the pursuit of creating stronger, more resilient communities, it's important to be the change we want to see.
Here is a quote from a Family Centre client that exemplifies the power of personal change:
“As a result of Family Centre's programmes, my son is enthusiastic about getting out and giving back to his community. It has made him more cognizant of the realities and complexities of other people’s life struggles. He has become more understanding of our home life and I now have a deeper level of insight and acceptance of who he wants to be. I strongly believe, a million times over, that Family Centre's programmes are beneficial for young people and families. The Family Centre team does not stop when the activities are over, it is around-the-clock support. Their programmes offer so much to fill the void families experience and is flexible to provide what the young people and parents need now.”
If you want to actively contribute to building resilience within our community, we encourage you to donate. Our collective efforts can create a ripple effect of positive change in the lives of children, teens, and families.
Your Donation is Important – What we are able to Achieve
Your donation creates a beacon of hope for families facing challenging circumstances. By contributing to Family Centre, you play a vital role in instilling optimism and belief in a brighter future for those in need.
Through your generosity, healing becomes possible. Your donation provides the resources necessary to support children, teens and families on their journey toward healing, fostering a sense of well-being and resilience.
Family Centre, with your support, continues to be a safe haven for those seeking refuge from life's storms. Your donation helps create and maintain a safe environment where families can find comfort, understanding, and support.
By supporting Family Centre, you actively participate in the cultivation of resilience within families, and by extension, our community. Your donation strengthens the threads of resilience, enabling families to navigate challenges and emerge stronger, more empowered, and better equipped for the future.
The positive outcomes Family Centre achieves through our Continuum of Care programmes and services are a testament to the collective impact of your generosity. Your donation contributes to tangible, positive changes in the lives of children, teens, and families, creating a ripple effect of well-being and success.
