Family Centre provides therapeutic counselling services and community outreach programmes, which are free to families with children ages 4 to 18. We are dedicated to improving the emotional and social wellbeing of families, for generations to come.

Focus Counselling Services works to lead persons with substance use disorder from addiction to sobriety, while rebuilding healthier families and communities.

As organizations that provide counselling to children and families experiencing mental, emotional, behavioural and addiction challenges, both Family Centre and Focus are doing our part to strengthen families and create safe spaces for them to heal and get the help they need. By supporting the Family Affair Fish Fry Fundraiser, you will not only be getting a delicious meal, you will also be making a difference in a family's life.

Last year, we sold 197 meals and received rave reviews from supporters. Our goal is to sell 250 meals this year. Please contact us at funddevelopment@tfc.bm if you are interested in volunteering or sponsoring a meal for a family. We hope to see you there!

What Your Support Makes Possible

Here are some of the things you are helping us to provide for children, teens and families in Bermuda! Visit Family Centre's website to learn more.

Youth Leadership Intensive (YLI)

YLI aims to build youth confidence in their voice and increase the effectiveness of adults who work with or on behalf of youth. This week of training enables young people to meet with adults on equal footing to discuss issues of concern and offer their ideas for solving community challenges. Youth learn the power of sharing their stories, listening to the stories of others, and using their voice to make a difference in their own life and that of others. The YLI training was designed after hearing young people express that they feel like life is just happening to them and that many adults do not see or hear them. 15 middle school students completed the Youth Leadership Intensive in April 2023, with support from 20 adult participants. YLI creates a safe space for students to connect, show up as leaders, work towards their personal development, and build relationships with others who can help to shape their futures in impactful ways.

Beyond Yoga Bermuda

Beyond Yoga is a programme in partnership with Dellwood Middle School that involves the teachings and practice of yoga & mindfulness with education about the stress response system and how it works in the body. Introducing yoga practices to students helps to develop self-awareness, self-control and self-respect so that they can move forward in life with dignity and opportunity. We currently have 30 youth enrolled in the Beyond Yoga Bermuda programme: 14 boys (pictured) and 16 girls. One student shared, "I have  learned about different states of my brain. This helps me normalize my feelings and helps me to further understand myself. Beyond Yoga helps my wellbeing and helps me feel free."
