Join us this fall for “Girl Code” at Family Centre! This fun and empowering peer group for girls ages 14-16 will explore self-esteem and relationships to help increase girls’ coping and self-expression skills. Girl Code helps to boost girls’ confidence, self-awareness, and decision-making skills in a safe and supportive environment.

“Girl Code” is designed to address the challenges teen girls face today, helping them to make informed and positive life choices. The primary focus will be on relationships and self-esteem. Our sessions will guide participants in identifying, understanding, and managing intense emotions through healthy self-expression and the development of effective coping skills. Additionally, we will explore decision-making techniques using problem-solving strategies.

“When girls can share their thoughts, feelings and opinions in a safe space, this strengthens their ability to communicate, make good choices and builds their confidence. This confidence helps them to make strides through adolescence and build a positive sense of self.” – Beatriz Aguiar, Family Centre Counsellor

Family Centre’s Girl Code Group is made possible by the generosity of our donors. A donation of $120 towards group materials and supplies would be greatly appreciated.

Parents/Guardians, register your young person by filling out the inquiry form or calling Family Centre at 232-1116. Let’s help our girls navigate life with confidence!
