Family Centre (Pembroke, Bermuda) is proud to offer a unique internship opportunity to current students and graduates in the fields of applied psychology, counselling, or social work who are looking for hands-on experience working therapeutically with children and families. Applications will be accepted from April 12th to May 3rd for the 2024 Family Centre Internship.

Family Centre Internship

The Family Centre Internship programme provides students with experience engaging our children, teens, and families. Priority is given to mature, culturally sensitive Bermuda residents. The student will learn therapeutic care approaches that foster healing, wellness, and empowerment.

The “Wraparound” intervention will be an approach that students will learn and incorporate into their client engagement. The student will work with Family Centre team members over a minimum of 6 months to devise, implement, and evaluate clinical service and behavioural plans to best assist the needs of families in their homes and communities. There may be opportunities to deliver individual child and family clinical counselling. Students will also learn how to design, develop, and deliver therapeutic groups and programmes for children aged 4 to 18. This position is for a Masters programme student or holder of a Master’s Degree in applied psychology, counselling, or social work. The successful candidate must be at least 21 years old to apply.
