April is Child Abuse Prevention Month. 💙

Every child deserves to grow up in a world filled with safety and love. This month, Family Centre stands with our partners against child abuse, advocating for the wellbeing of Bermuda’s youth.

Child Abuse Prevention Month is an annual observance in April dedicated to raising awareness and preventing child abuse. This is a time to raise and reinforce awareness that every child deserves to grow up in a safe, loving and stable family, free from physical, sexual, emotional and verbal abuse, neglect and exploitation.

The scars of abuse can last a lifetime, but together, we can break the cycle. Through our counselling services and community programmes, offered at no charge to families, we’re committed to nurturing safe, supportive environments for all children.

Let’s unite to protect our kids, support survivors, and honour the resilience of those who have overcome.

Family Centre is collaborating with the Government of Bermuda Department of Child and Family Services (DCFS) for the month of April to raise awareness and take action against child abuse.

How Family Centre Promotes Child Safety & Wellbeing

Family Centre fully embraces this year’s Child Abuse Prevention Month theme, “Building A Hopeful Future, Together,” focusing on creating a nurturing and supportive environment for children and families across the island.

Family Centre is an accredited nonprofit dedicated to improving families’ lives in Bermuda. Our organization was founded with the aim of helping children suffering from abuse and neglect in Bermuda, offering clinical counselling support and helping to give them a better chance at success. Family Centre has been at the forefront and an active participant in advocacy initiatives that promote positive parenting and protection of children and their wellbeing. We educate our community about child abuse prevention and we directly provide support to families in need.

We provide innovative, free of charge mental health counselling services for children, teens, and their families, community outreach programmes, and advocacy initiatives. Family Centre is committed to ensuring access to support without barriers. Our holistic, therapeutic approach to care fosters healing, wellness, and empowerment.

If your child is facing a traumatic event, or in need of emotional, behavioural or social support, we are here for you. We understand that it takes courage to reach out for help. Family Centre services are completely confidential, non-judgmental, available at no cost to families, and are open to everyone.
