Collective Action through Advocacy initiatives allows us to get out in front of the issues that affect families, help build community capacity and allow us to speak for those whose voices have not been heard. These services are aimed at primary prevention by changing the environment, so children receive better opportunities for wellbeing at home, at school and in the community.
Advocacy services include:
Workshops, presentations, and panel appearances to advise and train on trauma-informed best practices, stress management, positive parenting and many other topics that promote the wellbeing of children and families.
Public multimedia campaigns are created to raise island-wide awareness of pressing social and mental health issues that impact the general welfare of our society.
Systemic Agency Collaboration is a vehicle for working together with other organisations to more effectively serve vulnerable children and families. For example, Family Centre is an active participant in the following collaboratives:
– Youth Development Learning Community (YDLC)
– Adolescent Mental Health Research Working Group
– Mental Health Forum
– Mental Health Anti-Stigma Group
– Healthy Schools Committee
– Multidisciplinary Case Management Committee
Family Centre is an active member of the following groups: Nonprofit Alliance of Bermuda (formerly IAC Bermuda), Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Bermuda, and the Bermuda Chamber of Commerce, Nonprofit Division.
Family Centre provides Consultations, as requested by various stakeholders including Nonprofits, Non-Governmental organisations and Government Departments. Contact us to learn more.
